Guide to becoming a Shinobi
In the Shinobi world, there are ranks that you must go through in order to reach the top. Genin, Chuunin, Jounin, and Kage. The more you move up, the more powerful you become. The whole point of this site is to remain as true to the manga/anime (more so the former) as we possibly can, so we prioritize character growth. Well, you can't have much character growth if you start off with a ton of Jutsu. So, to stop new characters from having overloads of techniques, we have some rules on what jutsu each ninja rank can start off with, and which technique ranges they should be learning in. Genin are the starter rank here. They are usually put into squads of three with a Jounin Leader as their Sensei. Genin will know the basic academy jutsu, such as the Bunshin no Jutsu and Kawarimi no Jutsu. However, what will make up the bulk of a Genin's arsenal will be Jutsu of the D Rank. A Genin may start off with:
Genin ||
- 5 D Rank Jutsu
- 1 C Rank Jutsu
- 1 Chakra Nature
Chuunin || Chuunin are what Genin become after they pass the Chunin Exams. Most Shinobi never make it past this rank unless they show exceptional skill. Chuunin are usually teachers at an Academy and are sent out on C Rank Missions, though some may be deployed on B Rank Missions. This rank makes up the bulk of a Shinobi's Forces. Chuunin to start off with can have:
- 7 D Rank Jutsu
- 4 C Rank Jutsu
- 1 B Rank Jutsu
- 1 Chakra Nature
Special Jounin || Special Jounin are the best in a particular field. They have to be specially appointed by that villages Kage--there is no other way to attain this rank. Most Special Jounin have figured out their chakra nature and have started to hone in on it. They are dangerous, skilled and are usually recognized for a special talent that they would have (stealth, espionage, assassination, torture, etc.). They should not be trifled with lightly. At this level they have already created a technique(s) that is their trump card. Special Jounin are allowed to start off with:
- 10 D Rank Jutsu
- 6 C Rank Jutsu
- 2 B Rank Jutsu
- 1 A Rank Jutsu
- Must have one custom technique of your own in your move-set.
- 2 Chakra Natures
Jounin || These types of Jounin are much stronger than their counterparts. Jounin of this level are very difficult to defeat since they are well-rounded experts in combat. They have to be specially appointed by the Kage and are exceedingly powerful. These Jounin are usually Sensei to a team of Genin. Jounin are allowed to start with:
- 12 D Rank Jutsu
- 7 C Rank Jutsu
- 3 B Rank Jutsu
- 2 A Rank Jutsu
- Must have two custom technique's of your own in your move-set.
- 2 Chakra Natures
Kage || This is the strongest ninja of a village. They are revered, respected above all others, and are very hard to defeat. Under threat of invasion or war, Kage's will defend their villages with their lives, something that is incredibly difficult to make them lose. Kage's gained their power and position from their multiple deeds in the battlefield and in their respective villages. If you thought a Jounin was tough to beat, then you should not fight a Kage. Kage's start off with:
- 16 D Rank Jutsu
- 12 C Rank Jutsu
- 7 B Rank Jutsu
- 5 A Rank Jutsu
- 2 S Rank Jutsu
- Must have three custom techniques of your own in your move-set.
- 3 Chakra Natures
